#thestruggleistooreal
Poster series
We humans are often trapped in our own daily behaviors. The hurdle to changing these is difficult to overcome. Especially when it comes to climate change, however, it is time to act.
Our high living standards often causes us to get upset about small things. Instead, we should change our perspective and be grateful for what we already have. And maybe do without something a time or two.
By pointing out absurd complaints, we wanted to make people realize that it is indeed needed and possible to lower our standards. The visuals should be intriguing and as attention-grabbing as possible so that it’s hard to ignore.
We started out digitally, because it wasn’t possible to meet physically due to the COVID-19 regulations. The challenge was to work together, solely communicating through online channels.
First, #thestruggleistooreal was digitally exhibited as part of the online exhibition The Change Club.
Finally, after some COVID-19 regulations were lifted, the project was displayed at the Zagreb Design Week 2020 in Croatia and later on in October at the Urban Art Festival Styria 2020 in Graz, Austria. Brochures about the project have been designed, printed and handed out at the event.
